deadlines? huh? rules? huh?

After a full week of printing, all my ambitions were dashed when I discovered the show required an entry of five or more pieces (on the day of the deadline), and no less than five pieces submitted total. What was Plan B? Entering the drawings instead of the prints, plus create one new drawing (above). Working to the deadline made me uncomfortable, I think the point is to work the whole time, and build an inventory to choose from.

Below are the prints I started (there are two more to create in the series). The top one isn't finished.

These are some monoprints from the process which are interesting in their own right.

This project motivated me, as well as watching "Work of Art - The Next Great Artist." I'm determined to stay on track, hold myself accountable to the amount of time I spend on art, and keep making no matter what. The exciting part is the world of possibilities to create - sculpture, painting, prints, collages, photos, drawings, nothing is off limits.

  1. Thanks for following Analog Artist Digital World. I decided to check out the work on this blog and I really love these collage like images. The strong combination of line and tone is inspiring. I am thinking if I use a digital tablet I might someday get this strength of color. Keep up the great work.
