moleskine shots

My moleskine provides a fresh outlet and lately it allows me to explore a subtle topic in my work - voyeurism. Most of my unsuspecting models sit in coffee shops on their laptops. I watch them watch other people. What does that mean? Are the cut-off figures, awkward angles, and flat yet detailed backgrounds the result of a culture determined by still and moving images? Has facebook/myspace/reality tv/blogspot/ twitter/video chat/etc. permeated my brain entirely?

One technical question, how do these photos work for you?

  1. i think you should keep the photos cropped to just the image area of the notebooks..but interesting idea about how media affects drawing style. i'll ponder that further.
